MY-VIET-LAO (AMERICAN-VIETNAMESE-LAOTIAN)
MY-VIET-LAO is a work-in-progress personal documentary by filmmaker Ji Loan Do.
The films title, MY VIET LAO has a double meaning, which translates to: “American-Vietnamese-Laotian” in Vietnamese, but in English it takes on the possessive form, which is to “own” one’s Identity: “My Viet Lao”
The film is about Ji’s life as a Vietnamese born in Laos but grew up most of her life in America.

SPLICE (And the Making of a Selfless Art)

A film for Art house and Grassroots Independent filmmakers.
An autobiographical personal documentary based on video diaries of a young filmmaker, Ji, and her life in Film School. This film is centered on topics such as early 60s Art Cinema, the industrialization and capitalism of filmmaking, society fears of pornography contradicted by obsession with sexual violence, and creative censorship.
SPLICE is an amusing yet often sad account of America’s “Me” or “MTV” Generation’s influence on society and how it has transformed the world of TV and cinema as we experience today.

An Angel is in Love with the Devil in this drama about two high school girls secretly in love in a volatile, sexually repressive and conservative Reaganomic milieu of the 1980s.
