Poetry Podcast: Recitation of Sayings pg.12
I’ve recited the verses (from the English translation) of sayings by Jesus Christ translated from his original native tongue: which is Aramaic.
I consider these words not only Poetry but also poetic expressions of Truth; and I believe poetry is the direct representation of Truth, which can only be Experienced and Intuited (Understood) by the Heart, hence not through Reason.
Thus, my attempt here is not to enter a discourse of Religion but rather quite the opposite. Religion, similar to Society likes to Argue and Debate.
Poetry, like Nature: likes to Realize (hence, lends itself to personal interpretation; experience and meaning).
My personal view of the Jesus Mash Potato (the raging discourse and intellectualisms) is fairly accurate and simplistic:
Jesus was a Yogi who had a Kundalini experience and shared this Rising of Consciousness with all mortals to show them they can attain God within as well.
Hence, “Know Thyself.”
This is opposite of “Worship Me”; and if you were to Worship him, he meant that one should worship the Teacher (Guru) in order to become absorbed in the Teaching; to become the Teaching (attain Consciousness oneself). Thus it is through being lost in Devotion (freedom from all Doubt) that one experiences Liberation.
The reason Religion is developed was largely to control the masses.
Gurus since time immemorial had a unique relationship to Scriptures that were not based on Dogma or Rhetoric. Hence, most of spiritual texts were written as poetry; spoken from consciousness (found in Feeling and in the Heart). They had profound respect for the Words; because the Words were “seeds” and contained the essence and power of God; the words were Whole, Original and Pure.
Religion operates in exact contradiction to that: it resists “personal interpretation” because it is more interested in Domination and Legislation. So you see, people had been lead astray; from the profound experience (of tapping into the power of Knowing Oneself).
You will review the Kundalini pattern consistently in the book I recite from (particularly in the verse “Our Birth In Unity”); because the original verses (pre-biblical) often talks about God as Breath (breathing or “life force”) and Light (consciousness):
The “Shimmering Sound” is the Cosmic sound (or seed mantra) called “AUM” (otherwise known as OM or AMEN). It is this seed mantra that pulls the psyche into wholeness (hence the state of a Seed, which gives birth to all creation; consciousness).
“Whirlwind” (or wind) is life force energy coiled (whirring, circling) at the base of the spine; dormant Power lying at the base of Human consciousness…awaiting to rise out of Darkness (metaphor for Ignorance which manifests its own Life power; hence our inability to grasp the “force” of Evil).
“Wordless Action (Silence)” is the state of Perfect Union, perfect Peace (stillness; where one becomes absorbed in the Seed or becomes the Mantra; therefore no Voice is needed; one is Perfect with it), often called “Nirvana” or Samadhi, and otherwise known as “Christ Consciousness.”
It is the metaphor of (experiencing) the “Heaven on Earth” (as is above, meaning, Heaven is a symbolic experience, and also Hell which is Ignorance; or Darkness; hidden consciousness). Materially, it means we create Heaven/Hell (Karma or “Action” in our worldly existence as well). Firstly, within our own Bodies, and then Outwardly as a Conscious or Unconscious projection.
My decision to recite this is not to enforce a “Religious” point of view nor to promote his book. I recite them because I enjoy reading them as poetry. I also feel that this may benefit and heal others.
The following verse is recited from the book PRAYER OF THE COSMOS, Meditations on the Aramaic Words of Jesus by the author, Neil Douglas-Katz.
1. OUR BIRTH IN UNITY
(King James Version: Our Father which art in heaven)
Aramaic version: “Abwoon d’bwashmaya”
O Birther! Father-Mother of the Cosmos,
you create all that moves
in light.
O Thou! The Breathing Life of all,
Creator of the Shimmering Sound that
touches us.
Respiration of all worlds,
we hear you breathing–in and out–
in silence.
Source of Sound: in the roar and the whisper,
in the breeze and the whirlwind, we
hear your Name.
Radiant One: You shine within us,
outside us–even darkness shines–when
we remember.
Name of names, our small identity
unravels in you, you give it back
as a lesson.
Wordless Action, Silent Potency–
where ears and eyes awaken, there
heaven comes.
O Birther! Father-Mother of the Cosmos!
