Poem: Ori

ORI

In the Black I saw you like light…
drew unto you for the kill

Love, is it that?
Moth wings destructively
battering towards or against Life?

The Saints were dreaming
the day we met
Wet with Hope
Sinking deeper into the Infinite well…

we fooled them did we not? for
when we Kissed—they thought we were Angels
and drew Disciples around us

Praised us
Surrendered to us!

how privately we loved; even around others
how secretly public.

how no one could suspect
nor believe their eyes—if we had told them
how we came to life.

we came from stars my love…
born in your name: ori.

no matter to see or to believe
even if turned into stone—Reality could not seek us out.

so tell me what is True—when Time collapsed and revealed
its Weakness before us?

it is perfect Beauty, that thing of Lust
that brings me back to you—
it is bread pulled of gold
a thread yielding to Silence

what I cannot speak of—it is this true

it is tender, it is frail…it is Love and it is the Road.
