About

“The concept of a molecule is closely linked to that of a pure substance, a substance composed entirely of one type of molecule. Their wide variety has made the complex functions of living beings possible.”
“The smallest fundamental unit of a substance which can exist in a free state and still retain the chemical properties of the substance.” (Definitions of a Molecule)
JUST FOR THE RECORD
I was never good at anything but telling the truth. That is all I could do. That is what I do best.
When you tell the Truth—in art or in life, nobody wants to hear it. No one will hire you for a job, award you plaques for team effort, and everyone is afraid to be associated with you.
They just want you to smile.
The small films I have made, may not look like films, behave like films, or have the budgets or technical craftsmanship of “film.”
But they are films. They are not “movies.” Even if I were given millions of dollars : I will not make movies…I make films.
They are not anyone else’s films. They do not smile for the camera.
My work is ahead of the times. No one in my lifetime will ever be able to market or sell them. If they do, they must be on the film’s terms.
My favorite filmmaker, Robert Bresson describes the state of cinema as being in a state of “Catastrophe.”
He said that in the 1960s.
In such a state, where Movies “mime” Coca Cola Commercials : everyone is afraid to create something that might not “sell”.
Everyone creates for an audience whom they perceive to be a “Consumer.”
Both Bresson and Bergman said
there is nothing more stupid than creating for an audience.
Apparently Nobody listened to them.
Instead, filmmakers fund and write their entire scripts around “Product Placement.” Then afterwards, they call it Art and quote or “endorse” the masters.
Their entire goal in life is to win a medal for everything. They see nothing wrong with that. They think that awards are reasons to make films.
To me, that has nothing to do with filmmaking. But it has everything to do with awards.
In Film Schools, they tell Young artists that the Auteur Theory got it all wrong : that no artist can work alone. That to “make it” in film, you have to compromise.
Well I work alone, and I do not compromise. That is what Auteurs do.
You will not see “Actors” in my films. You will not see people pretending to be “seamless.” They will show their seams in every way to you. They want to give you everything wrong about Acting…About acting on stage, as in acting on film as if acting in life.
My actors too : do not smile.
I do not consider myself an “independent” filmmaker. I do not get paid for my work nor do I seek to do it for fame or fortune.
It is obvious and transparent to me that there is no such thing as “indie” or alternative-anything. There is only Info-tainment, Organically Certified Synthetic and Indiewood.
My work is mystical in nature. It is dark and it is friendly with darkness: in a constant state of Eclipse in that way. It is made of the Unknown.
If you want to go into the darkness, it may lead to liberation. If you are afraid of it—then you can (or will) get “lost.”
Get lost in cinema, get lost in the office, get lost in prisons and country clubs of discrimination.
If you want to be free, then open your heart, open your mind…become Film Minds.
Just for the record : Purity has nothing to do with being a Saint or Sinner.
