Poem: Parasiva

20080820

parasiva

without the body one can love.

it’s the body that gets in the way.

without the body—I know her.

without the body—I become.

with the body—only one-tenth of me loves.

everything else separates
everything differentiates.

it’s body that we forget one another
it’s the body that we do not feel nor realize

I have seen her in the eyes of many
profound is her will; permeates everything.

her body—without boundaries

no giving…no take.

because of her, our hands and lips search
grope blindly and wildly for one another
for that which does not exist

she is watching me..
like my angels, like my cat, like that which
looks because it cannot help but See

cannot help Being
cannot help Feeling
cannot help Believing

cannot help and can no longer resist.

with this body I cannot love
with this body I cannot see

I am blind in my misery of pretense;
of pretending to know—the Unknowable.
it’s the body that gets in the way

without the body
there is Love.

Additional Reference:

Parasava: “transcendent Siva.” Absolute Reality. That which is beyond the grasp of consciousness, transcends time, form and space and defies description. To merge with Him in mystic union is the goal of all incarnated souls, the reason for their living on this planet, and the deepest meaning of their experiences. Attainment of this is called Self Realization or nirvikalpa samadhi.
