Reality is There—You Just have to Walk into it

How I write:

I try to clean out the “gutter” of academia in my writing. Although some words are more economical than others: they are useless if they are used purely intellectually.

When people communicate, they do so with feeling. When they do not do so, no one listens to them…no one believes them.

I enjoy Redundancy and repetition. I don’t like to pretend to be something…for instance when I use quotes, I do not abuse adverbs—such as:

“I replied” (wryly, politely, solemnly, enthusiastically, apologetically).

If I say “I replied,” I will say it ten times more “I replied”—because saying it any differently is to put up an emotional front—it is self-conscious and taking the reader by the hands or massaging them.

As a result, I can detect the bullshit in any work of writing. I hate fiction because it is rapes the soul of a story with academic self-consciousness, overdressing nature, are journalistic molestations and editorial masturbations. If you want to witness a crime: read fiction.

When I blog, I don’t do it for commentary purposes: I do it to change the world.
